Horseshoe Magazine

History

As a part of her honors thesis, Managing Editor of the Charger Bulletin Amanda M. Castro started the Charger Bulletin Magazine, now named Horseshoe Magazine, in 2021. After having worked in the Charger Bulletin for more than a year, she became interested in long-form journalism and figured that many other students would enjoy becoming involved as well.

Founded in 1938, The Charger Bulletin is the student news source of the University of New Haven. The Charger Bulletin publishes articles that directly relate to college students and the surrounding community. The Charger Bulletin covers campus and national news, student life, entertainment, sports, editorials, and more.

The Charger Bulletin’s staff is comprised of talented students who report about what is important to the University of New Haven community. Positions are open to all majors and backgrounds. If you are interested in writing for The Charger Bulletin, please visit our office, come to one of our meetings, or contact us.

The Charger Bulletin is committed to reporting accurately, honestly, and fairly.

In 2007, The Charger Bulletin unleashed its first-ever online edition. In the fall of 2017, The Charger Bulletin launched its broadcast section, WCBN, and Charger Bulletin News, a weekly broadcast show covering the top news of the week. Now, the Horseshoe Magazine becomes a part of this family in 2021.
