Waves push and pull.
Oars banging the boat
as kids pull farther ahead
Joy and laughter float above the treetops.
Memories that last a lifetime.
Crabs so visible it’s as though
the water is glass,
shallow as a puddle.
Insights to the world below;
evergreen and pine, kissing your senses
while you breathe
in the world around you.
Sun leaves the remnants of red,
tan lines from your life vests
you climb into bed
ready to repeat.
